University Animal Clinic (“UAC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, contact our hospital, or use our services, and how we use, share, and protect that information.

When you book an appointment, fill out a contact form, register as a new client through our intake form, or otherwise communicate with us, you may provide information including your name, address, phone number, email address, your pet’s name and medical history, and payment information.

When you visit our website, we may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, referring URLs, and timestamps. This data is collected through standard web technologies including cookies and similar tools, and is used for security, site analytics, and performance improvement.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide veterinary care and related services to you and your pet
- Schedule and confirm appointments
- Respond to inquiries and provide customer support
- Send service-related communications, including appointment confirmations and reminders, service due reminders, post-visit check-ins, recovery and care follow-ups, two-way client conversations, and occasional review requests (see our SMS Policy for details about text messaging)
- Process payments
- Improve our website, services, and patient experience
- Comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate our practice, and only with parties who help us deliver care and services to you. This may include:
- Service providers who help us run our practice, including our practice management and electronic medical records platform, our client communication and clinic phone system, our SMS technology provider, payment processors, and our website host. These providers are contractually required to safeguard your information.
- Referral and specialty veterinarians when your pet’s care requires referral to another practice, with your consent.
- Legal compliance when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of UAC, our clients, or others.
We do not share, sell, or rent your phone number to third parties for marketing purposes. Phone numbers collected for SMS messaging are used solely for the communications described in our SMS Policy.
4. How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain your personal and patient information for as long as necessary to provide veterinary services, comply with legal and regulatory obligations (including Florida veterinary medical record retention requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
5. How We Protect Your Information
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

- Request that we correct or update inaccurate information
- Request that we delete information we hold about you, subject to legal and regulatory retention requirements
- Opt out of marketing communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in any email we send, or by replying STOP to any SMS message

8. Children’s Privacy
Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Material changes will be communicated through our website.
