Exploring is fun, but it’s even more special when we can take our furry friends along. Luckily, Lakewood Ranch has several enjoyable things to do for pets and their owners alike.

Grab A Bite To Eat At Local Restaurants

Select restaurants around Lakewood Ranch allow you and your pet to sit at their outdoor tables. Maybe you are stopping to eat after a day out or perhaps you are planning an evening excursion — either way, the following pet-friendly restaurants serve delicious meals or sweet treats for you and cool water dishes for your pet:

Stroll And Shop At Waterside Place

Whether you live locally or are visiting for the summer, Waterside Place is the perfect spot to experience a little bit of everything — entertainment, shopping, dining, lounging and more. Best of all — it’s pet-friendly!

Waterside Place is an open-air shopping center with tons to do outside, including outdoor games and a weekly farmers market. Pets are welcome in all outdoor spaces where they can nap in the sun by the lake or even enjoy a live concert. Be sure to check with shop owners before bringing your fur baby inside.

Take A Walk In One Of Many Parks

Lakewood Ranch is home to several community parks to take your pet on walks or runs. Specifically, Bob Gardner Community Park and Greenbrook Adventure Park are the two most pet-friendly park options, as they have dedicated dog parks where you can let your pet run free. These fenced-in areas are grassy and full of obstacles for your pup to climb, tunnel through and jump onto.

While not every park in Lakewood Ranch has dog parks, a few have nature trails to give you and your pet a good workout. Spend the day at any of the following parks for refreshing walks and quality time with your four-legged family member:

  • Bob Gardner Community Park
  • Greenbrook Adventure Park
  • Heron’s Nest Nature Park
  • James L. Patton Park
  • Roger Hill Park
